New Orleans based Billboard-charting and award-winning artist Robin Barnes returns with her newest single, “In God We Trust.” Available everywhere now, this powerful new song speaks to the unshakable spirit of those who rise above life’s trials.
“I’m so proud of this song, and it’s one we could all use right now,” says Barnes. “From the streets to the stage, ‘In God We Trust’ celebrates unity, music, and the power of hope just in time for the season that brings us all together.”
Blending rich, soulful melodies with a message of perseverance, the track captures the feeling of standing at the edge of uncertainty and choosing hope; of pushing through and embracing joy, even when it feels out of reach. It’s about the belief that pulls us through our darkest moments, reminding us that there is always something greater pushing us forward. “In God We Trust” is a song for those who keep going, who keep believing, and who refuse to give up.
New Orleans–Robin’s home–has always been a city of perseverance and hope, where people rise, rebuild, and carry on with a joie de vivre that refuses to fade. This song is a celebration of that unstoppable drive—the ability to move forward, to find joy in the day-to-day, and having faith that no matter the struggle, love and hope will prevail.
The song is also a reflection of her journey as an independent artist navigating an industry that isn’t always built to uplift those carving their own path. It’s a triumph and testament to the power of staying true to one’s voice, and a remembering that no matter the obstacles, the music will always find its way.
Tomorrow, Barnes will take the NewOrleans.com Stage at French Quarter Fest at 5:20pm CT to debut “In God We Trust.” Deeply ingrained in the local music scene for most of her life, Barnes has performed at the festival every year since 2010, however this will be the first time she is premiering new music at the festival.
On April 30, Barnes and The Fiya Birds–a full jazz, soul, and funk band experience–are presenting A Soulful Revival at New Orleans’ Hotel Peter and Paul. Then, on May 4th, Barnes, alongside her husband Pat Casey, will once again perform as Da Lovebirds as part of the lineup of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. She is also at work on her debut album which will honor her native Louisiana roots, spanning the diverse genres native to the state’s culture.
